"In order to help the world, you must first understand its people."

This is an anonymous quote I came across several years ago. Only recently have I started to understand its hidden meaning. It could be related to "live a day in someone else's shoes", but I think it can be interpreted differently. While the quote is written in a "positive" tone, the side I find more powerful is the opposite.

If you don't understand the world's people, you will harm the world.

Ignorance has always been an issue, and unfortunately, it always will be. We can see the damage that ignorance has caused to many different parts of the world. Although, it is important to remember that one small light can light up a dark room. Thus, be the light in the world so that others will not experience darkness.
