Hi all. My dog of 14 years is finally getting close to passing. Unfortunately, he has been having health problems and can no longer control his bladder nor contain his poops. Wondering when you all decided it was time to put your dog down? And methods to cope with such a loss.

    Keeping Family Close

I’ve noticed that as my mother has grown older, her relationship with her siblings have waned. Her elderly parents have been a constant source of stress and have caused tension between her family. Thankfully, my four siblings are all very close, despite living far away. I wonder how your family...

    Software Courses: Trailhead

Hi all! I recently have been training using Salesforce's Trailhead application. It seems especially useful, but I am curious to see how useful the Salesforce Admin Certificate is in the job market? I think it is great to garner these skills but I want to make sure that my time is spent learning...

    Powering-Down

I keep reading this and I realize that it is so true! I have been trying to find strategies to prevent myself from using my phone close to bedtime but it is especially difficult. I did not realize how completely reliant I am upon technology. I've stopped watching Netflix before bed and usually...

    Powering-Down

Thanks for the advice. I have actually found that cleaning up at night while listening to music helps me calm down and I am still able to accomplish something. I have started to do it every night and have seen great results!

    Teaching English Online

I am very interested in doing online tutoring! What platform are you going to be using? I've heard of Vipkid, but do not really know of any alternatives! I think that teaching online will provide me with a lot more flexibility and freedom, and it can be done from anywhere.

    Inspirational podcasts

As a budding entrepenuer, I thoroughly enjoy listening to How I Built This with Guy Raz on NPR. On the show, he interviews the founders of companies and the listener can really see how an idea transformed into reality. The stories are really inspirational and it is always awesome to hear how the...

    Start writing

Always good to follow your passions! It definitely is difficult to put your work out to others; I always struggled showing my artwork. But I have always believed that if you enjoy your work, there’s got to be some one else too! Write for them!

    Favorite Quote by Dr. Seuss

Love that quote from Dr.Seuss! I saw another from him that I really enjoyed: “Say what you want and be who you are, because those who matter don’t mind, and those who matter don’t mind.” So true!

    Rest your body & mind

Completely agree. I can clearly see that my body requires adequate sleep. I can trace practically all of my illnesses to lack of sleep! And I’m always upset when I’m sleep deprived. I always try to find ways to relax and destress so I can get enough rest!

How to stop caring about how other people think of you

Like many have stated above, I also struggle with this issue! I have recently begun to try to analyze things from a broader perspective. I ask myself how does this impact me on the grand scheme of things. In many instances, it is truly not a big deal and the negative feedback is actually an...

    Biographies that Inspire

I recently finished "Paddle Your Own Canoe" by Nick Offerman and was inspired to start working with my hands more and paving my own path. I am curious to hear what auto-biographies or biographies that you all recommend that inspire you to change? Also, I always love to learn about interesting...

    Ultra-Marathons, Iron Mans, Long-Distance Running

I am currently training for a marathon and have siblings who have both completed 50k races. I truly enjoy running and whenever I reach a point in a run (like 7 miles in), I ask myself why not keep going? Personally, finishing a long run feels like a great accomplishment and the endorphins are...

    Powering-Down

Like many, I often have difficulty shutting off my thoughts and relaxing at night. I have tried meditation but I was wondering what techniques/things you all use to relax after a busy day? This is especially important to me as I love a good night’s sleep (who doesn’t?), but my thoughts sometimes...

The Importance of Creating a Schedule

As a college student, scheduling is always a great tool to help me figure out my day, week, or even month. Also, writing out was has to be accomplished during the day and being able to cross each item off is an amazing feeling! I have been starting to use my phone as another organization and...

    Meditation

I started meditating last month through the Headspace app. I am a very active person and meditation really helped me to calm down and concentrate. I highly recommend it alongside journaling as they both help to ease my thoughts! I'd suggest starting out with a free trial on a meditation app and...
