    10,000 steps a day

They say that everyone (that can) should aim to take 10,000 steps a day. I have started trying this and using a step counter on my phone, but I began with 6,000 and now I have a goal of 8,000 each day which I usually reach so I think I will start aiming for 10,000 soon. I should probably start...

    Let's Talk About Stress

It's best to have a support system. If you know you have people who know what you are going through and are there to help, it won't feel so daunting! And I'm sure the people you are afraid to talk to now have gone through this as well, so try not to look at them as above you.

    Hello from New York

Hi! I just graduated from college and am looking for a career. Since I've been on here, I have gotten more motivated to work and find a great job that I love. I look forward to learning more and growing!

"You can't use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have." - Maya Angelou

Hmm, very good quote. I actually do find myself feeling more creative when I use my creativity. When I was in an art class, I found that I wanted to do more creative things afterwards. The same goes for being productive. When I do a few productive things in a row, I find myself wanting do more!

A way out of procrastination and achieve your goals

When I was in school, it helped me to go the library or book a private room to study in. The library made me want to work because I went all the way there to do it and everyone else there was working as well. Maybe you could find somewhere like a library, coffee shop, etc., that makes you want...

    Using your weaker hand

It would build the muscles so that they are more even, so you don't have to rely so much on one hand. It would also be helpful to be able to use your weaker hand if you happen to hurt your dominant hand and can't use it for a while!

Welcome to the Screens Versus Skies Era

I bring my phone with me everywhere in case on emergency, but when I'm walking the dog or hiking I like to just keep it in my pocket and enjoy the outdoors. The same goes for when I am having fun with family (besides the occasional picture). Taking a break from screens feels great. But I do...

Why do we procrastinate and how do we stop

One way I get myself to stop procrastinating is giving myself something to look forward to and tell myself I can't do it unless I finish the task first. For example, if I have to write a paper I tell my friend I can't hang out tonight unless I finish the paper I have to do. It usually works!

Exercise Makes for a More Productive Day

Try using a personal trainer! That way you are accountable to someone who is counting on you showing up and you look forward to completing that goal for the day. Like when your dogs needed you to give them exercise, you'd feel that you need to meet with the trainer. 🙂

Staying Positive When You Feel Frustrated

I have been trying to stay more positive even when things happen that I don't like. I tend to get in bad moods when these things happen and let it ruin most of my day. What do you do to stay positive when you get frustrated?

Starting the day with good habits

I get ready for the day as soon as I get up, even if I'm staying home, because I feel more lazy if I stay in pajamas. I also do easy tasks like laundry and dishes in the morning so I don't have to do them later and have more time for more difficult tasks in the afternoon.

    Waking up at 5:30 AM

I tried this for a while and found myself too tired and wanting to go back to sleep within a couple hours. I think that this would be beneficial if I actually was able to go to sleep early, but so far no. The earliest I really wake up is around 9, which ends up being fine for the things I want...

    Busy mommy

Maybe you could try doing voice memos on your phone while you are busy with your baby, that way you have some ideas to write about while the baby is asleep. Sometimes it is also necessary to try to get someone to watch the baby for a couple hours just so you can get some quality work done.

    Lucid Dreaming

I often recognize I am dreaming and can control it, but I also have over 10 very detailed dreams a night that I remember which is more than everyone I know. I actually would rather not dream because it hurts my sleep and I don't know how to stop it, so I don't really have any tips! haha

Dealing with the toxic people in your life

I have the same problem with family, and though the rest of my family recognizes the severe problems this person presents, they all get angry with ME if I express that I don't want to associate with them.

    Learning How to Say No

I find myself wanting to say no to people who ask for the same favors far too often with no appreciation. For example, my sister takes advantage of free babysitting and I know I would agree to it more if she didn't ask so often, I'm just so burnt out on it. But even if I explain this to her...

How to get out of a work rut

Building your skill set and narrowing your focus are both great ideas! I also recommend creating a productive morning routine that will motivate you for the rest of the day. Tasks to include in your morning routine could be writing in a journal, reading a motivating book, updating tasks you wish...
