When I read the title of this forum as positive discussions I immediately thought of the positive influence that cats are on the internet. So here you go, a picture of my cats!

Thoughts on the book "The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck" by Mark Manson?

I keep debating about getting this book too! I struggle with never feeling "enough." Like I have not done enough or accomplished enough or been good enough. I will check this book out. Thanks for the review!

    Remembering Names Specifically

Does anyone have any advice or tips for remembering names specifically? I feel like I can remember everything about some one except their names.

    Workout motivation techniques??

I totally bribe myself when I am having a tough time. I tell myself that I will give myself a dollar every time I go. Or sometimes, I set aside a larger amount if I go 5 times a week. Then I use it to buy myself something I have been wanting but could not justify usually.

    Insight from Lady Gaga

“When I wake up in the morning, I feel like any other insecure 24-year-old girl. Then I say,'B*tch, you're Lady Gaga, you get up and walk the walk today.” I tell myself this every time I am having a tough time getting motivated or am feeling like an imposter.

    Forming New Habits

I highly suggest reading the book "The Power of Habits" by Charles Duhigg. It looks into both how to create habits but also the psychology of habits. It's like self-help plus cognitive behavioral therapy.

    Listening to music while writing

I love to listen to classical musics. Or sometimes covers of pop songs. I have a hard time writing with lyrics but if I need to be creative I usually turn on my Amy Winehouse Pandora (I know my coworkers tease me for still using pandora).

Trying to Save More, Spend Less

I am on a similar journey too. It is easy to get discouraged though. I recently read the book "How to Save Money When You Dont Have Any" and they suggested not just creating a monthly budget but constantly refining it and reevaluating it. Almost like you would with your investments. It helps me...

    Biographies that Inspire

I really enjoyed Kitchen Confidential by Anthony Bourdain. His discussion of finding his passion for cooking as well as his addiction issues was insightful.

How do you discover your passion?

Do you think that monetizing your passion devalues it? I know a ton of people who have side gigs and I could certainly use the money but I worry that by making money off of a hobby it will no longer be fun.

    Trying to eat better

I agree with Omar. I think the things is to just start small with swapping out some unhealthy foods for more healthy options. I also think it is important not to go all in at once. At least, I know that when I do that if I slip up even at all, I just quit all together. I also just straight up...

To work or not to work?

I think that there is no right answer to this question. If you love your current job then you should certainly find a way to make that work. However, if you think that your true calling is being a full-time parent that is what you should do if you can make it work financially. If your husband...
