Law of Attraction Journal

I've used a writing process that I call a Law of Attraction Journal with some pretty good success and I wanted to share it with you. The concept is exactly the opposite of the typical journal where you write about the events of the day gone by. Instead, this is about creating the future.

So let's say that you are wanting to meet new friends or take a trip or get a new job, you would write a little story about the future you're interested in creating. It would be done with a totally lighthearted approach. You are just spinning a story, but in an unattached yet curious way. Using law of attraction principles, you focus on all the things that you want about that experience, but avoid worrying about how you would make it happen. For the sake of the exercise, your whole focus is the experience that you want, but not the steps to make it happen.

When you think about what you want, you feel happy and relaxed. When you begin to focus on how to make it happen, you get tense and controlling. The idea is just to allow it to be fun. Just a game you play.

Often the story can start out with these words: "Would it be nice if..." Or: "Won't it be nice when..."

So for example - "Wouldn't it be nice to have a friend who is as amused about this crazy life as I am - somebody I could laugh with a lot. Wouldn't that be great? To have a friend I could meet for coffee at that little shop down the street. And somebody who loves animals, too. . ." Make it as rich and indepth as you want or just a quick few words.

According to the law of attraction, the act of objectifying our goals or desires in a written form has a catalyzing impact and sets things in motion. The simple act of focus on a desired outcome clears out the cobwebs, and action simply flows better when the mind is clear.

Dedicating some time to each day is the key for it to work. I confess that like so many things, I'm not consistently disciplined with it, but just a few weeks ago I was using the technique and was focusing on how fun it is when miracles happen and during that time I had several small miracles manifest.

"I wonder what small happy suprises might come up this week? I love small miracles..." Sure enough, a few unfolded.

One of them involved a dog that comes to visit me from time to time. He really belongs to the neighborhood and none claim him, although we've tried. I had not seen him in quite a little while, and I was just a bit concerned. I thought about him quite a lot that morning, and I wondered if that crazy old lady down the road had locked him up in her back yard. Later that day he showed up with mud under his belly like he had to dig himself under a fence. I think maybe he did!

It was one of those small miracles that surprise and delight, and it just happened that I was using my journal to write about small miracles just like that.

I think I'll pull out my journal tomorrow...

One of my friends recently told me about the law of attraction from The Secret. I think by creating a journal from that is a great idea. I think that by saying things into the universe, the universe will show you what you are looking for. I also believe that it's a good way to stay up with goals and such!

Me too! It's definitely powerful to speak or write your intention into the universe. :)
